Unrivalled sea views from the kitchen/diner on the second floor of the cottage. Sleeps 8 in three double bedrooms and one twin. House bathroom with Jacuzzi bath and three en-suites. Lounge and unusually located kitchen/diner on the top floor. Underfloor heating to basement and main bathroom, electric heaters in all rooms and open fire on ground floor. Parking permit for Staithes Bank Top provided March to October inclusive.

Ocean View is a most impressive double fronted Grade II listed stone property located on High Barrass. The cottage has been lovingly restored by the owners to offer luxurious accommodation throughout and will benefit from further improvements in Spring 2012. There are sea views from most of the rooms and the kitchen/diner has been located on the top floor to maximise the awesome panoramic views of the harbour and North Sea beyond. Ocean View sleeps up to 8 people in one twin and three double bedrooms, though if your party is all adults we would recommend a maximum of 6 to allow you all to enjoy the cottage in comfort. Ocean View is situated on Barrass Square just off the main High Street and is only a short walk to the harbour, local pubs and village amenities. Short term parking is available in the High Street for unloading and the main car park is a 5-10 minute walk from the cottage.

Cottage Layout

Ground Floor - living room/snug with feature fireplace and open fire, original wood panelling, leather sofas, flat screen TV and DVD player. There is also a small double bedroom on this level with some sea views and fully tiled en-suite shower room with walk in shower cubicle and heated towel rail. The bed has an Impressions Spa Sensation mattress for a very comfortable night’s sleep!

Lower Ground Floor - steps lead down from the living room in to a double bedroom with king sized bed, TV/DVD player, radio/CD player en-suite wetroom, separate WC/basin with heated towel rail and underfloor heating throughout. Please note that there is restricted headroom throughout this area.

First Floor – twin bedroom with en suite shower room, original panelling, sea views and radio/CD player. Double bedroom with unrivalled views of Staithes harbour and original panelling/feature fireplace, radio/CD player. House bathroom with large Jacuzzi bath and thermostatically controlled shower, heated towel rail and underfloor heating.

Second Floor – kitchen/dining area with one of the best views in Staithes. This is the perfect place to enjoy a meal and a glass of wine with friends and family. Dining table seating 6 and 2 additional stools at the breakfast bar. The kitchen is very well equipped with oven/hob/extractor, fridge, freezer, wine cooler, integral dishwasher, washer/dryer, microwave, coffee maker and bread maker. The only problem is that you won’t want to leave!!

The cottage is strictly non- smoking. The internal staircase is steep and may not be suitable for people with mobility issues plus there is some restricted head height in the lower ground floor bedroom.

Bedding and towels are provided and we include utility bills in the rental plus an initial supply of logs for the open fire November to March inclusive. We provide a parking permit for use in the Staithes Bank Top car park when parking charges apply March to October inclusive.

A travel cot and high chair are available free of charge by prior arrangement and subject to availability.

We are happy to accept one dog at the property for an additional charge of £25 and may consider an additional dog by prior arrangement. We ask that your dog stays on the ground floor of the cottage at all times, is kept off furniture and not left alone in the cottage at any time unless you bring a travel crate.

We charge a refundable damage deposit against any significant damage or loss of the parking permit. The damage deposit is due with your final balance one month prior to arrival and is returned to you once we have checked the property and confirmed that the parking permit is in place. We will provide full terms and conditions at the time of booking. Payment is by cheque or internet transfer.
