Cottage Details

Sleeps 4 in double and twin bedrooms. Lounge, kitchen/diner, house bathroom and enclosed patio to the rear of the cottage. Full central heating and log burner. Parking permit for Staithes Bank Top provided March to October inclusive.

Grimes Cottage is a Grade II listed cottage in a quieter location on High Barrass and enjoys elevated views across the rooftops to Staithes harbour and beyond. Perfect example of a traditional Staithes cottage with original wood panelling in the living room, stone fireplace and original beams. There is full central heating throughout and a log burner making this perfect place to spend your holiday at any time of the year. To the rear of the cottage is a large self contained patio area with table and chairs – the perfect place to spend a summer’s evening with a glass of wine. Short term parking is available in the High Street for unloading and the main car park is 5-10 minute walk from the cottage. Please note that you will have to climb a short flight of steps to reach the cottage.

Grimes Cottage is attached to Grimes Nook, which sleeps 2 people. This creates a great combination for a larger family where part of the group is looking for some privacy. Cottage Layout

Ground Floor - beautiful living room with original panelling and exposed beams, stone fireplace with log burner and sash windows to the front with some sea views. There is a large leather sofa and two arm chairs, TV and DVD player. Separate kitchen/diner with oven/hob/extractor, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave and dishwasher. The dining area has a large dining table seating 6 people. To the rear of the ground floor is the house bathroom with full sized bath, electric shower, sink and toilet. There is also a separate cupboard housing the washing machine.

First Floor - double bedroom with fantastic views across the rooftops to Staithes harbour and beyond. Twin room with same amazing views.

Outside - to the rear of the cottage with access from the kitchen/diner is a large self contained patio with table and chairs.

The cottage is strictly non- smoking. The internal staircase is steep and may not be suitable for people with mobility issues plus there is some restricted head height on the first floor.

Bedding and towels are provided and we include utility bills in the rental plus an initial supply of logs for the log burner November to March inclusive. We provide a parking permit for use in the Staithes Bank Top car park when parking charges apply March to October inclusive.

A travel cot and high chair are available free of charge by prior arrangement and subject to availability.

We are happy to accept one dog at the property for an additional charge of £25 and may consider an additional dog by prior arrangement. We ask that your dog stays on the ground floor of the cottage at all times, is kept off furniture and not left alone in the cottage at any time unless you bring a travel crate.

We charge a refundable damage deposit against any significant damage or loss of the parking permit. The damage deposit is due with your final balance one month prior to arrival and is returned to you once we have checked the property and confirmed that the parking permit is in place. We will provide full terms and conditions at the time of booking. Payment is by cheque or internet transfer.
